Unless you already have a nursing qualification you will need to take a 3 year Midwifery degree. During this time you will have to find a hospital placement and have 50 deliveries under yor belt before you can qualify.

Not sure which London universities offer the course but I know that Christchurch Canterbury University (NOT University of Kent) offer the course and they may be able to advise you where else you can study.

The other route is to take the nursing degree and then do the midwifery diploma once you've finished your nursing degree as this will mena you can always go into general nursing if you find midwifery isn't for you. If you take just the midwifery then you cannot do general nursing.

This is not an easy course with a young family as you will be expected during your practical training to still do your share of nights and weekends (as you will onc qualified) but you may get help wtih childcare.

Good luck!
