Health > Bump? (#16237)

On the skin on my eyelid, is a little white bump. It looks like a spot, but it's been their for quite a while. I think it IS some time of spot, but I can't remove, not apply makeup over it, and it just irritates me. I can't really tell what it is, of course, so I just guess. It's been there a few weeks, and shows no signs of going away. It's not really obvious, but it is quite annoying for me to look in the mirror and constantly see it. I am fourteen, so I guess it's just puberty acting up and bullying me, but of course I could be wrong. Is it an allergic reaction, or should I ignore it??

Thank you! :))

Sounds to me like what they call a stye which is a bit like a spot in your eyelid but it develops from the inside (i.e. pus can come from inside your eyelid, it won't pop from the outside). Sometimes they cause irritation and sometimes they don't and some are more noticable from the outside than others. They can easily be cured with some anti-biotic eyedrops from the doctor but an optician won't look at it until you've been to a doctor.

As much as you probably won't want to this, it is probably a good time to go through your eye make up and make sure that none of it is more than 3 months old because if it is a stye then the bacteria could have been passed on through eye makeup!

Best thing is to go to the doctors and have him take a look at it.
