Personal > Friend Who Copies Everything I Do - Help! (#16215)

I have this friend who literally copies everything I do. From the words I speak, the way I dress, the music I listen to, The way I have my hair, my fave films, who I fancy, famous people I like, even my wierd comments on twitter she will copy and adapt. SHE IS A PEST. She is a good friend too though so I dont want to be cold with her as I have told her before that she copies me, other people have too but she has done zilch about it. It needs to stop. So please if there is anyone out there that can tell me some ways to stop this but by being sly, and not saying anything or being nasty, but by doing stuff that will annoy her/get the picture across please tell me :D I know being sly is wrong, but it is my last resort and only option. It has gone on for 4 years now and she is really bugging me. Thankyou x x x x Rosie - 2/7/2010 3:35:45 PM - Country: United Kingdom - Close Problem Offensive? Unsuitable? Report this comment

Try mentioning to her that she is taking up parts of your life that she shouldn't, and seriously tell her that she is a good friend, but the obsessive copying needs to stop. Ignore her calls or comments on Twitter/Facebook. Gradually build up a little wall to seperate you two. She's become attached to you, and you need to shake her off. Sometimes, you need to get bitchy. Tell her that she's being a pest, and tell her that you need some personal space. You need to really get it into her head that she's IS being a nuisance, and she needs to gain some independence. Good luck :)
